Distinctive Unit Insignia, Description: A Gold color metal and enamel device 1 3/16 inches (3.02 cm) in height overall, consisting of a shield blazoned as follows: Per fess wavy enhanced Azure (Old Glory Blue) and Argent, on a pile reversed Gules a lightning bolt and a sword point up pilewise reversed and a pile reversed Or bearing a Spanish morion helmet Sable charged with a cross patée and embellished of the fourth; in chief the Southern Cross Constellation of the second and an eagle stooping to dexter of the fourth. Attached around the bottom of the shield is a Red scroll inscibed "IN CUSPIS PROVICTORIA" in gold letters.
