The wavy bar represents the Târnava river.
The two hands clasping refer to the coexistence between Romanians and Saxons.
The fortress symbolizes the castle from Sânmiclăuș of the Bethlen family, a historical monument from the 17th century.
The mural crown with a crenellated tower means that the locality has the rank of commune.
