Origin/meaning
The pine-tree on a mount is from the arms of Pope Leo XIII who appointed him as bishop. The three stars on the fess are taken from the arms of the Monaghan family of Ireland.
The motto is taken from the First Epistle of St. Paul the Apostle to the Corinthians, chapter 3, verse 7.
