VÉNISSIEUX
Département : Métropole de Lyon (until 2015 Rhône)
Official blazon
Origin/meaning
The arms were officially adopted on May 18, 1951.
The arms show a key for the Convent of St. Peter in Lyon, to which the village belonged until 1789. The anvil and cogwheel are symbols of the modern industries in the town. The chief shows the heraldic dolphin of the Dauphiné region, to which the area historically belonged.
