THE SOUTH STAFFORDSHIRE REGIMENT, BRITISH ARMY
History:Raised in 1702 as the Lillingstone's Regiment becoming in 1751 38th Foot and in 1793 as 80th, or Staffordshire Volunteers, Regiment. Those two Regiments in 1881 become the 1st and 2nd Battalions of the South Staffordshire Regiment. In 1959 amalgamated with The North Staffordshire Regiment (The Prince of Wales's), British Army to form The Staffordshire Regiment (The Prince of Wales's), British Army.
