Wappen von Arosa/Arms of Arosa

Official blazon

In Blau ein silberner Berg mit zwei gleichen Spitzen überhöht von goldener Strahlensonne.

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially adopted on December 12, 1934 and approved by the Canton on February 23, 1935.

The two mountain peaks symbolize the Erzhorn, which characterizes the mountain community. The summer and winter health resort is indicated by the silver twin peaks and the southern blue sky with the elevated sun. The blue sky also indicates the historical connection with the Zehngerichtebund (one of the communities of Graubünden).
