Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on July 12, 1988.

Canting arms: they show a "corn" (Catalan for "horn"). The arms of Catalonia-Aragon (four red pales on gold) are there because Cornellà was since the 13^th century under the royal jurisdiction, being incorporated to the territory of the city of Barcelona, centre of the Catalan Court.
