Origin/meaning
The arms were officially adopted in 2021.
The ointment vessel symbolises St. Madeline, the local patron saint. The chevrons are taken from the arms of the Acarie family, lords of the local castle. The bull also refers to the castle, it is the symbol of St. Saturnin, the patron saint of the castle chapel.
The base refers to the former stone quarries and the Charente river.
