Arms of George Rigg

Official blazon

Vert a saltire engrailed Argent between a star Argent in chief two garbs Or in flanks, the base quadrant Argent three roses Argent within a bordure Vert charged with eight crescents Argent.

Origin/meaning

The arms are shown in the St. Andrew's R.C. Cathedral, Dundee, but have probably been attributed; i.e. never used by the bishop itself.

The arms shown for Bishop Rigg are a version of the arms matriculated in Lyon Register 1672-77 by a Thomas Rigg of Riggsland.
