Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on July 1, 1996.

The arms show the local patron saint and castle taken from the previous arms, with a bunch of grapes for the importance of viticulture.

The previous arms were granted on July 1, 1948.

Escudo de Arganda del Rey/Arms (crest) of Arganda del Rey

The village of Arganda was incorporated into the Royal Estate by King Felipe II in 1580 and who renamed the village Arganda del Rey. The arms show the quartered royal arms of Castille and Leon, with an escutcheon with St. John Baptist, the patron saint.
