Unter einem goldenen Zinnenschildhaupt, darin 4 schräglinke grüne Lindenblätter, in Blau eine goldene Madonna auf dem Vollmond und ein natürlich tingierter schwarzgoldener Pirol.

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on June 17, 2019.

The embattled chief refers to the four (former) motte castles in the municiaplity. The four linden leaves symbolise the villages of Gudow, Segrahn, Kehrsen and Sophiental.

The golden oriole is taken from the arms of the Von Bülow family (see below), lords of the village since 1470. The family still lives in the area.

The image of the Madonna is one of the most precious pieces of art in the local church, dating from around 1430.
