Origin/meaning

The first report on Pribram estate dates from the year 1216. In the following 14th century the documents tell the story of mining and metallurgy with regard to local deposits of silver and tin ores. Approximately at that time Pribram grew to the size of a town. On October 2nd, 1406 it received a number of rights and privileges. These were extended and confirmed in 1487 and 1579.

It is not known when the arms were first used, but they probably date from the 15th century. Why only the local church was chosen as a symbol is not known.
