Origin/meaning

These arms have been officially granted on 28th November 1996.

The arms show the local castle (13^th century), in the county of Empúries. At the 15^th century it belonged to the family Senesterra, and at the end of the 17^th century the village formed a royal council. The wavy partition reminds the former pools of Siurana, drained off at present day.
