Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on April 9, 1991.
The chamois refer to the formerly important Lords of Überrain. They were first known as Lords of Gamsberga nd thus showed a canting chamois (Gemse) in their arms.
The heart refers to the prelate of Stams Sebastian Stöckl, which was born in Pettneu, who in 1796 introduced the oath to Jesus to the members of the States of Tirol.
