Activated on 14 Feb 1952. Inactivated on 16 Jun 1952. Consolidated (1 Apr 1991) with the 1942 Airways and Air Communications Service (AACS) Squadron, which was designated, and organized, on 18 Jan 1957. Redesignated as: 1942 Communications Squadron on 1 Jul 1961; 1942 Information Systems Squadron on 1 Jul 1984; 1942 Communications Squadron on 1 Nov 1986; 31 Communications Squadron on 30 Apr 1991. Inactivated on 1 Apr 1994. Activated on 1 Apr 1994.
