CETATEA DE BALTĂ
District/county (județ) : Alba
Official blazon
Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on March 18, 2009.
The ox's head, the moon, the sun and the star attest that the locality was the domain of Stephen the Great, the ruler of Moldova, being offered as a gift, at that time, by Matei Corvin, the king of Hungary.
The fortress gives the name of the town and symbolizes the presence of the noble castle located here since the seventeenth century.
The mural crown with a crenellated tower means that the locality has the rank of commune.
