Origin/meaning

The arms were officially adopted on February 18, 1955.

The Green maple leaf(s) symbolise the French Canadians. The usage of this symbol diminished after the adoption of the current Canadian flag. Tourouvre was the main city from which the first pool of French immigrants to Nouvelle-France came from in the 17th century.
