En campo de plata un león rampante de gules. Bordura componada con las armas reales de las coronas de Castilla y León. Al timbre, corona real cerrada.
Origin/meaning
The arms show the lion of the Kings of León, as the city was conquered by King Ferdinand III by soldiers from León. The borudre shows the arms of Castille-León. The arms differ from the arms of the city as that the provincial arms have no crown and has red nails.
