Arms of Kristianstad

Official blazon

I blått fält två mot varandra vända, uppresta lejon mellan sig bärande ett krönt monogram, C4, allt av guld.

Origin/meaning

Kristianstad was founded in 1614 by the Danish King Christian IV. The arms were granted by the King on March 15, 1622 and show the monogram with the initials of the king. When Skåne became part of Sweden in 1658, the arms remained the same. The arms were officially granted by the Swedish King in 1932.
