State : Wien (Vienna)
Origin/meaning
The arms show St Lawrence, the patron saint of the former village and present district, shown on a chequered field of blue and silver. He has the traditional attribute of the grill. The name "Warich" is first documented in 1161/76, but has not yet been explained.
