History: First Formed in 1943 at Royal Naval Air Station Yeovilton (HMS Heron), Somerset as a School of Air Combat and later a Naval Air Radio Warfare Unit.

Origin/meaning
The Motto in Latin translates as "The Eagle trains its young". The Badge was approved in 1948.
