Origin/meaning

The arms were officially adopted on April 6, 2018.

The arms show a small silver bar line, which is a canting element for Liny (Latin linea).

The two Roman swords refer to Saint Julian to whom the local church is dedicated, as well as to the two former Roman camps on the border of Liny, Chatillon and Epinois.

The garden lily is a symbol of the Virgin Mary, patron saint of the chapter of the cathedral of Verdun, to which the village historically belonged.

The water mill wheel refers to the water mills in the Doua river.
