History: History: Formed at Dunkerque in February 1917 as No 10 Squadron, Royal Naval Air Service and renumbered on 1 April 1918.

Motto: Yn y nwyfre yn hedfan
Origin/meaning
The Griffin symbolises the long connection with Wales. The Motto translates as ”Hovering in the heavens”. The Badge was approved in July 1937.
