LONGTON
Incorporated into: 1910 Stoke-on-Trent
The borough did not have official arms, but did use unofficial arms as shown below. The borough assumed the escutcheon, the quarterings, and the impalement of the late John Edensor Heathcote, Esquire, of Longton Hall , who died 1869.
To the shield was added the crest from the Mosley family and supporters (a potter and a miner) to show the local trades were introduced.
