Origin/meaning

The Maltese cross refers to a former commandery of the order of St. John in the village. The fountain refers to the etymology of Briffons, brevis fons (small fountain). The vase of perfume is the attribute of Saint Madeleine, patron saint of Briffons. The crosier case on silver symbolizes the priory of Saint-Benoit.
