Escudo de Olivella

Official blazon

Origin/meaning

The arms have been officially granted on 23th January 1992.

The key and the staff are the attributes of St. Peter (the local patron saint) as Heaven's gatekeeper and first bishop. The cross above is a traditional sign of the arms of the village; in fact, the ancient castle of Olivella (10th century) has been a possession of the bishops of Barcelona.
