French Écartelé: aux 1er et 4e burelé d'argent et d'azur, au lion de gueules à la queue fourchue et passée en sautoir, lampassé et couronné d'or, aux 2e et 3e d'azur à deux bars adossés d'or, cantonnés de quatre croisettes recroisetées au pied fiché du même; à deux marteaux de sable passés en sautoir brochant sur le tout.

Origin/meaning

The arms were adopted on April 13, 1950.

The arms show in the first and fourth quarter the arms of Luxembourg, as the village officially was part of Luxembourg. In practice the Counts of Bar ruled the village and their arms are shown in the 2nd and 3rd quarter. The miner's tools refer to the (former) importance of mining in the municipality.
