Escudo de Vidrà

Official blazon

Origin/meaning

These arms have been officially granted on 25th October 1984

The branch of beech represents the characteristic tree of this municipality, covered mainly by large woods. The second partition shows the eagle of St. John, symbolizing the monastery of Sant Joan de les Abadesses, lords of the village, and the pine cones are taken from the canting arms of the Pinós family, barons of Milany, that had the direct jurisdiction over Vidrà.
