SALA BAGANZA
Region: Emilia-Romagna
Province : Parma
Official blazon
Partito, nel primo d’oro alla banda di rosso ; nel secondo d’azzurro ai 9 gigli d’oro disposti 3:3:3.
Origin/meaning
The village became in the 13th century a possession of the Earl of Sanvitale. They ruled the village until 1612. In the early 19th century the village became the popular holiday spot of Maria Luigia de Borbone (Bourbon), Duchess of Parma. Her successors of the Bourbon-Parma family made the village the seat of the ducal (summer) court.
The arms were granted in 1860 and combine the arms of the earls of Sanvitale (red bend) with the fleur-de-lis of the Bourbon dynasty.
