Escudo sobre pergamino de oro, lleva la cruz de Santiago (en gules) que abraza el escudo cuyas armas son: En campo de azur una muralla de oro, con puerta cerrada por una tranca de sable dispuesta en banda; acompañada en el jefe por un víctor y una corona que abraza dos palmas, ambos de oro; la bordura de plata cargada con la leyenda: "La noble ciudad de Tarancón". El escudo se timbra con la corona real de España.
