Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on September 3, 1969.
The arms show an anchor for Cape Town and a tree in a circle as a canting element (ronde-boach meaning round-forest). I have no information on the chevrons in the first quarter.
The schools nowadays use a logo instead of the arms:
