Origin/meaning

The arms probably date from the early 18th century. The colours are known since 1835 and are derived from the arms of the Counts of Schwarzenberg, who ruled the town in the 18th century.

The arms are canting, showing in the upper half a whip (Geissel) and in the lower half a dog (Windhund).

The municipal stamp shown in 1892

The arms by Hupp in the Kaffee Hag albums +/- 1925

Literature: Stadler, 1964-1971, 8 volumes.
