Origin/meaning
The elderflower is a canting element (Sussat may have been derived from sureau, elderberry in French). The green symbolizes agriculture. The crosier is the attribute of Saint Bonnet who was bishop of Clermont and the local patron saint. The chief shows the arms of the Bourbonnais region in which the area is situated.
