History: The Station is believed to have formed on 15 September 1916.

In front of a pentagon point in base the upper edge embattled and divided fesswise at the lateral points vert and bleu celeste a Roman Centurion's helmet in bend sinister Or pöumed gules.
Motto: Vigilance and knowledge.
Origin/meaning
The Pentagon allude to the Castle Hills located near the Boundary of the Station. The Roman Centurion's Helmet is indicative of a Military Base once occupied by the Romans and in present day by the RAF. The Colouring is indicative of the Hills and Rivers nearby.
