The arms were officially granted on April 15, 2019.
The star of life charged with the Rod of Aesculapius, signifying medical healing, is a well-known symbol of paramedic services. The maple leaves refer to the provinces and territories of Canada.
A breed indigenous to Canada, the Canadian Inuit dog is known for its speed and strength, essential qualities for a paramedic. The unicorns symbolize healing, as their horns were said to have healing powers.
The motto means “To serve humanity.”
