Escut caironat: d'or, una palma de sinople posada en pal enfilant una corona de flors de gules fullades de sinople; el peu quarterat en sautor; 1r, i 4t, d'or, 4 pals de gules; i al 2n i al 3r, d'argent, una creu abscissa de gules. Per timbre una corona mural de poble.

Origin/meaning

These arms have been officially granted on 20th February 1987.

The palm and the laurel wreath are the attributes of the martyr St. Eugenia, the local patron saint. The base shows the arms of Vic, because this city helped the people of Santa Eugènia to purchase the freedom from the castle of Taradell in 1385. Then, the village was considered a "street of Vic", that's to say the people of Santa Eugènia had the same privileges as the citizens of Vic.
