KROKIALAUKIS
County : Alytus
Municipality : Alytus
Lithuanian | blazon wanted |
English | blazon wanted |
Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on July 11, 2007.
The arms symbolizes horsebreeding: during the times of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania the village was the major centre of state horsebreeding. The horse also reflects the local folk tale about the origin of town name: a local Jewish tradesman had an old horse, which rattled loudly, so people heard it from far; "rattles" is "kriokia" in Lithuanian.
