Origin/meaning

The arms were adopted in 2020.

The arms are based on the old arms, but in the colors of Odda.

The previous arms were granted on November 8, 1979.

Arms of Ullensvang

The arms are derived from the arms of councilman Sigurd Brynjulvsson and can be seen on his grave from 1302 in the local church. As it is the oldest gravestone in the church it was well known in the village. Hence the choice for the arms of this knight as municipal arms.
