Maaria Kuntavaakuna / Kommunvapen

Official blazon

Punaisessa kentässä rukoukseen polvistunut Neitsyt Maria, saatteena kummallakin puolellaan Marian monogrammi; kaikki kultaa.

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on October 1, 1956.

The parish is named after the Virgin Mary, patron saint of its medieval stone church. The arms thus show St. Mary and her monogramme.
