Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on March 4, 1655.
The arms are largely based on those from the Worshipful Company of Merchant Taylors with a different crest (platter with the head of St. John, the patron saint) and a different motto: Nudus et opervistis me (I was naked and you clothed me).
