Origin/meaning

The arms were officially adopted on May 7, 2021.

The saltire symbolises the local patron saint St. Andrew. The upper part shows the two lions of Normandy, the red and gold colours in the arms also refer to Normandy. The green refers to the forests and green fields, the gold to Normandy and wheat fields. The flax flower symbolises the flax cultivation.

The tower symbolises the medieval tower in Avrilly. The book and knife are symbols for St. Bratholomew, patron saint of Thomer-la-Sôgne. The lower half of the shield is taken from the arms of the De Corneuil family and thus represents Corneuil.
