Origin/meaning
The arms were initially granted on March 1, 2000.
The blue, green and white colours are the institution’s official colours. The peaks are based on the College’s former emblem representing the Rocky Mountains. The Kootenai canoe honours the institution’s relationship with the Kutenai Indians who were the first inhabitants of the region in which the College is located. The wavy bars indicate that the College is located near water. The book of learning symbolizes the educational mission of the College
The motto means “To the summits” and is a play on both the armorial design and the College’s name.
