District/county (județ) : Covasna
Official blazon
Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on January 31, 2007.
The fir tree and the ice crystals symbolize that the locality is located in a mountainous area, considered the pole of the cold in Romania.
The black bar and the locomotive remind us that at Întorsura Buzăului there is the longest railway tunnel in the country.
The wavy bar is the symbolic image of the Buzau river, which is also found in the name of the locality.
The mural crown with three crenellated towers means that the town has the status of a city.
