RUNGIS
Département : Val-de-Marne
Official blazon
D'azur à la fontaine d'argent jaillissante et retombant de deux vasques posées sur une terrasse du même et accompagné en chef d'un arc-en-ciel au naturel.
Origin/meaning
The arms were officially adopted in 1942.
The fountain symbolizes the water that has always gushed in the past at Rungis, due to the convergence of streams in this place. The rainbow originated from the gold and silver medals used by Louis XIII and the regent Marie de Medici when they came to lay the first stone of the fountains of Rungis. The rainbow appeared with the mother of Louis XIII on one of the sides of the medals, symbolizing his regency.
