Département :Pas-de-Calais

Camblain.jpg

Origin/meaning :
The arms were granted on May 27, 1969.

Camblain historically belonged to the Lens family, and in the 16th century became through marriage a possession of the family de Recourt. A later illegitimate son married a Lady of <a href=l/licques|Licques]] and combined the arms of Licques (blue bends) with the quartered arms of Lens.

The arms also appear in the arms of the former Dutch municipality of <a href=z/zwake|Zwake]], which was also a possession of the Counts of Recourt de Lens de Liques.
