Département : Maine-et-Loire

Blason de Varennes-sur-Loire

Official blason

Origin/meaning

The three towers refer to the three former estates in the municipality, Chanfreau, Chavigny and La Motte. The blue base and wavy division line refer to the Loire and the high banks on which the village is situated. The bell is the last vestige of the sailors and the rabbit refers to the name of the municipality (Lapin de garenne = common rabbit).
