Origin/meaning

The arms were registerd in 1974 and are a combination of the previous arms of Årjäng and Töcksmark.

The previous arms were granted on December 28, 1962.

The bear in the arms is taken from the seal of the former Nordmark herred. The bordure with the horseshoes refers to the importance of horseriding in the area.
