NOU DE BERGUEDÀ
Region : Catalonia
Province : Barcelona
Official blazon
Escut caironat: de porpra, una espasa d'argent guarnida d'or acostada de 2 mitres d'argent embellides d'or. Per timbre, una corona mural de poble.
Origin/meaning
The sword is the attribute of St. Martin, the local patron saint. The mitres at each side symbolize that the village belonged to the bishops of Urgell and, since 1593, to the new bishopric of Solsona.
