FRAUENTAL AN DER LASSNITZ
State : Steiermark
District : Deutschlandsberg
Origin/meaning
The arms were granted on March 3, 1980.
In the 18th century, a brass factory was set up at Frauental. This factory was run by the state; the president's office was in the so-called "Verweserhaus" (literally: Administrator's House) which boasts a clock-tower. In token of the state-ownership, the tower was embellished with the Empire's arms, a double-headed eagle brandishing a sword and a sceptre, surmounted by an Emperor's crown. This composition was placed in the arms afterwards.
