Wappen von Sankt Blasen

Official blazon

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on 14 January, 1974.

The arms use the tinctures of the Styrian arms and are, in a way, canting. The two candles are depicted in the manner used on 3rd Feb, when the priests give the "Blasiussegen" (lit: the blessing of St. Blaise), which is said to cure and protect against illnesses of the throat and the lungs.
